Compass Systems, Inc. is developing the OMNI (Operational Mapping and Networked Intelligence), a handheld device providing precise, geo-referenced situational intelligence that has a wide variety of applications.  Compass Systems was selected to demonstrate the capabilities of the OMNI at CWID (Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration) 2011 in support of the M2CM (Managing Military Civilian Messaging) trial.

This involved a rapid software development effort to integrate OMNI data into existing emergency management and reporting systems, both civilian (the FEMA IPAWS-OPEN system) and military (JWARN).  Compass Systems, Inc. developed XML messaging interfaces, designed a custom GUI, configured a multimedia server, integrated embedded communication libraries, and performed system and interoperability testing to meet a very aggressive schedule.   OMNI real-time reporting capabilities into both civilian and military systems were successfully demonstrated and very well received at CWID in June 2011.   A special memorandum of appreciation was issued by the M2CM sponsor in recognition of the extraordinary support provided by Compass Systems.
