Compass Compact Computer

Compass Systems Incorporated has developed a compact computer for Navy use.  The computer system uses thermal tubing to expel heat to the chassis without the need for fans.  This design is ideal for desert or dusty environments.

Internally the computer uses COTS components to keep costs down.  These components are combined in a rugged package that provides a military style power connector and built-in heat sync details.

The Compass Compact Computer was designed to provide:

  • Removable Hard Drive for securing classified data.
  • Six USB ports
  • Dual Gigabit Ethernet connections
  • PS/2 keyboard and mouse legacy connections
  • VGA out to support legacy aircraft displays
  • Dual IEEE 1394 ports
  • Five serial ports

The Compass Compact computer has been successfully deployed on multiple Navy platforms to date.  The system provides augmented situational awareness to operators, but can be used for virtually any function.

In addition to designing and building the Compass Compact Computer, Compass Systems created the electrical integration package for installation for the Navy.
